Printers
As of Jan, 2016, Hyrel Printers are available in two models: Engines and Systems.
- Engines are open-air models. Detailed information is on the Engines page.
- Systems are enclosed models. Detailed information is on the Systems page.
Filaments, Heads and Flow
We break down our deposition methods based on temperature, as follows:
Cold Flow
Cold Flow means fluid (non-filament-based) materials which are deposited at room temperature, with or without UV Crosslinking.
Materials
- Adhesives
- Clay
- Epoxy, Two-part
- Fimo
- Glue
- Metal Clay, including Precious Metal Clay (PMC)
- Modeling Clay
- PEG
- Porcelain
- Plasticine
- Play-Doh
- Resins
- RTV Silicone
- Sculpey
- Sugru
Heads
- The EMO-25 prints in Cold Flow materials at room temperature, with the supplied nozzles or commonly available needles with our Luer Tip Adapter.
- The COD-25 prints in Cold Flow materials at room temperature with LED Crosslinking, with our Luer Tip Adapter.
Warm Flow
Warm Flow means fluid (non-filament-based) materials which are deposited at up to 100°C, with or without UV Crosslinking.
Materials
Note that some materials (like Fimo, Plasticine and Sculpey) flow more freely when slightly above room temperature, and perhaps too freely at higher temperatures.
Heads
- The VOL-25 prints in Warm Flow materials at up to 100°C, with the supplied nozzles or commonly available needles with our Luer Tip Adapter.
- The VCD-25 prints in Warm Flow materials at up to 100°C with LED Crosslinking, with our Luer Tip Adapter.
- The KRA-15 prints in Warm Flow materials at up to 150°C, with the supplied nozzles or commonly available needles with our Luer Tip Adapter.
- The KCD-15 prints in Warm Flow materials at up to 150°C with LED Crosslinking, with our Luer Tip Adapter.
Hot Flow
Hot Flow means (1.75mm diameter) filament-based materials which are deposited at up to 250°C, with
