While the printer is normally assigned the highest number COM port, we cannot control this (thanks, Windows!).

If, for some reason, your tablet is not connected to the printer, follow these steps:

  1. Perhaps you are connected, but the Emergency Stop is engaged. Ensure the E-Stop is disengaged by rotating it clockwise.
  2. Do you see a blinking green LED at the bottom right of the spine? If not, please reset the 407 motion controller by pressing the Reset button on the front of the printer.
  3. Still no connection? Let's check/set the COM port:
    1. Click over to the Comm Link tab on the right side of the Repetrel program
    2. Click on the COM# button to activate the COM menu, and select Refresh
    3. Click on the COM# button again, and select the highest COM port displayed.
    4. Ensure the RATE button is set to 38400.
    5. Click the Apply button.
    6. Click the PING button.

The text in the Comm Link window should now say "Printer connected" - done. On next launch, Repetrel will attempt to connect on this same port. Most of the time, it works fine. If not, repeat these steps. Sometimes you may need to select a port other than the highest one; repeat with each port listed if necessary, until you are connected.

If this process did not work, please call or email us.
